I first got interested in photography back in the early 70's—black & white, 35mm and medium format, influenced mostly by photographers like Harry Callahan, Minor White and Emmet Gowin. I gave up photography in favor of painting in the 80's and 90's, but have since come more-or-less full circle—back to where I started.

This blog is simply a record of what I see and how I see it. Mostly it is a place where photos that would otherwise be consigned to the dark depths of my hard drive can see the light of day. It also serves as motivation to get out and shoot at times when I might be tempted to do something else.

Process: Almost all of these images were made on type 120 medium-format film, using either a Hasselblad or Holga camera; or 35mm film using a Leica rangefinder. I develop the film myself, scan the negatives and process them in Photoshop, only manipulating the elements that I would adjust in a traditional wet darkroom—tone, contrast and brightness.
